The Makeovers Are Back!
Since moving to Cornwall I have not been able to offer the full makeover service I used to offer back in Warwickshire, when I worked with two very talented hair and make-up artists!
Why Not? I Hear You Ask!
Moving a business to a new area brings many wonderful new opportunities, but it also bring some very real challenges!
For me one of the biggest challenges has been to find and to engage the services of a local Hair & Make-Up Artist.
Yes, there are quite a few make-up artists around if you do a search on Google but I have found that, to my surprise, none of the ones I showed interest in, and sent email enquiries to, actually replied to me!
That was such an eye-opener…
I’d expect at least a reply telling me that they did not do makeovers, or were too busy already.
But no.
Nothing…
So I decided to try a different route: I joined a local Notice Board group and put out a post asking locals to recommend a good Hair & Make-Up Artist!
Although I was not inundated with recommendations, I did get five names and made contact with a young lady who was very responsive.

I am delighted (and quite relieved) to be able to say that I have this wonderful young woman on board, and that I can book clients with confidence that I can offer the full makeover service, once again!
From my point of view a professional and insured HMUA is vital to my work - they really do make a huge difference to my client's experience, and are a vital part of the Beauty, Boudoir, and The 50 Over 50 Amazing Women Project!
My business is still very much in a transitional phase, as we are preparing to move to our forever-home (we are renting right now!), but I am now confident that once we are settled, hopefully in January 2024, the studio will be fully set up in readiness to welcome new and wonderful clients, who will be able to receive the pampering they so richly deserve!
